Chaplain Ministries

Those who serve in Chaplaincy are working every day to bring the gospel to all people in every walk of life – but the way they are accomplishing this might surprise you. Chaplains are ministering and helping those in their time of need in all areas society.

Welcome to the International Circle of Faith Chaplaincy

Chaplains provide care: Chaplains sailed with Sir Francis Drake in the sixteenth century and fought with Washington during the Revolutionary War. They prayed through human suffering, encouraged in despair, and officiated over ceremonial events. They have counseled and consulted for kings, parliaments, and governments— for the incarcerated, the sick, and the disenfranchised.

Chaplains have many settings: Today, chaplains are found in many settings—military, healthcare, law enforcement, institutions, business and industry, resorts, racetracks, gambling casinos, job corps, shelters, rescue missions, professional sports teams, factories, and corporations. Placement is limited only by the lack of imagination.

Chaplains provide counsel: Chaplains help with compassion and counsel in areas of stress and danger. For example, each day Police and Fire personnel risk their lives to serve and protect others. Though these men and women often maintain a strong emotional front, behind the tough veneers are spiritually hungry people who need Christ at the center of their lives.

The need for and importance of Chaplaincy: The needs of people are growing and society is changing. The needs of people are increasing because of the current economic climate, declining moral values, and growing discontent. The acts of violence in the world are evidenced by school shootings and terrorism, generalized fears and anger, and the many people who seem to have a spiritual thirst for something they can’t even identify. In chaplaincy and many churches, leadership, and ministry synergize when they come together in response to a problem or crisis. Understanding chaplaincy dynamics, scope, methods, possibilities, and issues concerning this effect is vital for students in this field of service.

First Responder - Chaplains

The men and women who serve as first responders encounter high levels of stress and danger. Each day they may be asked to risk their lives to serve and protect others. Though they are trained and equipped to handle the stress, they need the spiritual strength and confidence that is only found in relationship with Christ.

Community Chaplain

Community and corporate chaplains help and support people in various areas of society during their time of need. When they minister in these settings, everyday objects like the hood of a vehicle, a table in a break room, or a corporate office can become a pulpit or a place of healing.

Military Chaplains

Chaplains play a crucial role in the lives of the active duty service members they serve. They are held to the same high standards as other military personnel, which helps them earn the trust of the military community. New recruits often seek support and advice from chaplains as they adapt to military life.

Correctional Chaplain

Chaplains serving in prisons have a remarkable opportunity to share the message of Christ's unconditional love with inmates. For the men, women, and juveniles in the prison system, chaplains represent a life-saving source of Jesus' grace, mercy, and forgiveness.
